HSCP Prayer Garden Project Survey Summary

November 10, 2020

The Holy Spirit Prayer Garden, dedicated to our Blessed Mother Mary, will dominate the  landscape along 98th Street and provide a visual reminder of the presence of God in our community. It will provide an opportunity for evangelizing and serving Catholics and non-Catholics.

Thanks to everyone who recently took the time to complete a survey on the Holy Spirit Prayer Garden Project.  The Prayer Garden Committee has released a note about the responses received and a summary of the responses is below.

The prayer garden will be a perfect setting for prayer, meditation, worship, retreats, and special events.

The prayer garden will host the Stations of the Cross and will be available to groups or individuals who wish to meditate on the Passion of Our Lord, year round in a beautiful outdoor setting.

The prayer garden plans include a grotto, the only one between New Mexico and Dallas.

Current plans include 240 niches available to all Catholics in the Diocese of Lubbock and their immediate family. Each 12×12 inch niche will accommodate two standard size urns.

You can read a little bit more of how the prayer garden plans have progressed during the past two years here .
