During the summer of 2022, we received full approval from the Diocese to move forward with our new Prayer Garden! Please be on the lookout for fundraising events and columbaria niche sale updates! In the meantime, we are opening the project up for bids. If you or anyone you know is interested in bidding on this project, please reach out to the Parish Office for an appointment to view the plans. Email parish@holyspiritlubbock.org

Our Crucifix is Centered

Crucifix is carefully assembled.
Our Crucifix is carefully unpacked.
An honor to lift him up on the cross.
Preparation, precaution, and patience prevail.

Prayerful and patient parishioners gathered on Monday, February 25th to view the hanging of the crucifix on the cross in the center of Our Lady of the South Plains Prayer Garden Prayer Garden. More pictures are available here.

Prayer Garden Update Sidewalks are being completed. You can now see how the walking paths are designed. There has been hours of labor and love put into the prayer garden project by many dedicated parishioners. May you all be encouraged in your efforts and receive the blessings of your answered prayers.

Our 17-foot crucifix will soon be erected in the middle of the inner circle. As the weather warms grass will be planted. For now, take a walk out and imagine praying the Rosary along the paths, or sitting in quiet contemplation in front of the crucifix. As Spring approaches look for our Prayer Garden to truly begin to “bloom.”

Lots of parishioner’s labor went into the dirt work, utilities, landscape, concrete walkways, and our Crucifix.    Thank you for your support and may God bless our efforts.

January 1st 2019 Blessing

January 1st 2019 Prayer Garden Blessing – Holy Spirit parishioners, Father Rudi, Altar Servers, Deacon Michael, and Jeremy Trull braved the cold after Mass on January 1st  to officially dedicate Our Lady of the South Plains Prayer Garden. After the blessing, parishioners were given an opportunity to use the golden shovels to prepare the dirt. Work will be progressing quickly as the weather warms. Soon the concrete will be poured and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the large crucifix, which will be the focal point in the center of the garden. Thank you to all who have supported the development of the prayer garden.

Ice Breaking – On a snowy morning last December, some Prayer Garden Committee members proceeded with the scheduled ground breaking ceremony in spite of the in-climate weather. We appreciate the time they have spent discussing, planning, and keeping our parish community informed of the prayer park’s progress. Prayer Garden Photos
