Synod Listening Session
June 10, 2022

Synod Listening Session This is an opportunity for Bishop Robert Coerver to listen to our concerns for our Catholic faith. Please consider meeting with him on Friday, June 10th from 7:30-8:45 pm in McGivney Hall. He said, “We listen to each other, to our faith tradition, and to the signs of the times in order to discern what God is saying to all of us.” Please RSVP by emailing parish@holyspiritlubbock.org if you are planning to attend.
The Synod process is a worldwide consultation which involves listening, discernment, and participation. The synodal process is first and foremost a spiritual process – it is not a mechanical datagathering exercise or a series of meetings and debates. It involves listening oriented toward discernment – personal and communal discernment.
We listen to each other, to our faith tradition, and to the signs of the times in order to discern what God is saying to all of us……. You can read more of Bishop Coerver’s explanation regarding the Synod in the PDF below.
