Dear Holy Spirit Parishioners, December is here, and so we begin our journey through Advent and into the Christmas season, which is not over on December 26th! This year Christmas continues until the feast of the Baptism of the Lord on January 13th. I recently connected my laptop to my TV with an HDMI cable so that I could show my kids some videos from Formed.org. Formed is like a Catholic version of Netflix. Our parish has a subscription to Formed, and therefore each parishioner can create a free account. To create your account, go to www.Formed.org  Now you can use the Formed app whether you have an iPhone or Android.

There are so many programs, movies, books and audio recordings to choose from that you might be overwhelmed! This month’s recommendations:

Footprints of God: Jesus – The Word Became Flesh(documentary – 94 minutes) A terrific video from Steve Ray, taking you to the Holy Land so that you can learn more about our Lord.

Mary of Nazareth (feature film – 2 hr, 41 min) Advent is a good time to focus on the life of Mary, our Blessed Mother.

The Story of the Nativity (documentary – 59 minutes)Learn about the events surrounding the birth of our Lord.

For the kids, check out: Nicholas – The Boy Who Became Santa Claus (27-minute cartoon). December 6th is the feast day of St. Nicholas.
