DCA 2019 Bishop Coerver

May 20, 2019

Most Reverend Bishop Coerver extends his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all who have made their generous commitment to this year’s Diocesan Catholic Appeal. Catholics throughout the South Plains are uniting in faith, sharing their blessings, and committing to be Companions on the Journey. The fruits of your commitment to the DCA can be seen in our parish through trained catechists, continuing education of our deacons, the spiritual renewal of our pastors through retreats, opportunities for young people to have an encounter with Christ, and so much more. Be prepared to make you commitment at Holy Spirit next Sunday. Remember that no gift is too small. We urge you to discern your commitment by filling out a commitment form. Please remember that you can fulfill your commitment over several months and pay by credit card, bank draft, or checks. The Diocese also accepts gifts online at www.catholiclubbock.org/dca. Our goal for this campaign is $ 386,030. Thank you for your discernment. Your gift truly extends beyond our pews and into the lives of thousands of Catholics in need of the ministries of the diocese. Since Holy Spirit has been given permission to delay our commitment Sunday due to First Communion, you are asked to view the video or listen to the homily message from Bishop Coerver. He has prepared a special homily that correlates to today’s reading. Go to catholiclubbock.org Under the Giving tab there is a link to DCA. On the DCA page at the bottom you will see DCA videos/audio. There you will find his message in English or Spanish. Thank you.

2020 Passion Play in Oberammergau In 1633, Southern Germany was in the grips of war, poverty, and the plague.  That year when the disease reached Oberammergau the villagers prayed for deliverance and vowed to perform a passion play about the last days of Jesus forever more.  Their prayers were answered and the village was saved from a continued outbreak of the plague. Nearly 400 years later the play continues.  It is performed once every decade. Witness Oberammergau Passion Play 2020 which will be performed daily May 16 through October 4, 2020. For more information please contact Debra at Envoye Travel 806-788-8907 ext.2004. Debra@envoye.com  Join me, Sigrid Carter, for a visit to my home Country Germany, so I can take you to Oberammergau to witness the 2020 Passion Play.  I have only a few GREAT seats left with an overnight in a 4 star hotel,  just a few steps away from the performance. The unique play is a world event, a must see for every Christian.   It takes place only every 10 years.  In 2010 we visited not only Oberammergau but also the Holy Land, Rome, Austria for the Sound of Music, Switzerland for the spectacular scenery, and France for the Shrine of St. John Vianney. I can tailor your trip just for you, or you can join our Danube cruise which includes the Passion Play. Kindly contact me.  Sigrid.carter@gmail.com 806 829 2182  or 806 441 3256 Gloria de la Garza at 806-577-1776.
