August 18, 2022

A Note from Bishop Coerver:  Pope Francis addressed all bishops in a letter today. Please read it below. Vatican News.

In the letter, the Holy Father invites bishops, priests, religious and faithful to assemble in their churches and places of prayer on 25 March, so that God’s Holy People may raise a heartfelt and choral plea to Mary our Mother.” Please join us on Friday, March 25th in HSCP’s sanctuary at 12:15 to pray a Solemn Act of Consecration of humanity to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, for Russia and Ukraine. This will be a short 20 minute service. If you are unable to attend, please pray the two-page consecration prayer on this page.

Pope's Letter to Bishops, En. (10)

The two page consecration prayer is below.

Prayer for the Peace in Ukraine
God of infinite mercy and goodness,
with grateful hearts we pray to you today for Peace.
You offer us your peace continually
and constantly remind us that peacemakers are blessed,
“for they shall be called children of God.”
May your voice resound in the hearts of all,
as you call us to follow the path of reconciliation and peace, and to be merciful as you are merciful.
We pray to you for Ukrainian people, who are experiencing war and deaths. Bless the leaders with wisdom, to build together a world of justice,
and to break down walls of hostility.
May you continue to inspire all of us to oneness of heart and mind, to respect the dignity of every nation,
which have their origin in the image and likeness of God impressed upon every human being.
Grant eternal rest to the dead and quick recovery to the wounded, we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
