| Did you know? Catholics have more books in our Old Testament than the Protestants do. There are 46 books in a Catholic translation of the Bible. These extra books are commonly referred to as the Apocrypha ( by Protestant) or Deuterocanonical Books (by Catholic). The books include Tobit, Judith, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, Wisdom of Solomon, Wisdom of Sirach (which is also called Ecclesiasticus), and Baruch. A good explanation can be found on St Mary’s Catholic Campus Ministry’s website. Did you know that there is a list of approved Catholic Translations of the Bibles?
