Benevolence

Christ teaches us.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger
and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’ ….’Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.
‘ (Matthew 25: 35 – 36, 40)

Holy Spirit Catholic Church is committed to acting as an example by responding to the needs of the poor and disadvantaged. We want to be an example by saying that we tithe to Holy Spirit Catholic Church and in turn our Parish tithe’s to the poor and disadvantaged. Tithing also has a scriptural basis, for instance see: 2 Corinthians 9. 6-9 or Proverbs 11. 24-26. How can our Parish ask our Parishioners to commit to acts of faith and the Parish not do also?
Father Rudi, by his wisdom, has committed a percent of every Sunday’s first collection and internet collections to tithe back to the poor and disadvantaged. Just as we help with St Benedict’s, Nurturing Center, Care Portal, Catholic Charities, DCA, Guatemala Orphanage and others we also help thru the Benevolence Ministry by reviewing grant request and awarding grants to worthy only 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that also seek to help the poor and disadvantaged.
